Senior Verification Engineer - CPU

Role Summary

Join Arm's CPU verification team to develop and execute verification strategies for next-generation CPU IP. The role focuses on simulation, formal, and emulation techniques to ensure correctness and quality of complex processor designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification areas, planning, and delivering verification for CPU projects.

  • Own verification for a specific CPU area, from unit-level testbenches to overall project strategy.
  • Create test plans, verification strategies, and track verification progress to closure.
  • Plan, coordinate, and track tasks to meet quality and schedule targets.
  • Use data-driven methods to assess product quality and direct verification effort.
  • Contribute to verification process and methodology improvements across the CPU group.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and resolve root causes of issues found during verification.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills to perform the role and additional desirable skills.

Must-have

  • Experience designing and implementing verification environments for complex RTL designs.
  • Proficiency with hardware description/verification languages (e.g. Verilog, SystemVerilog).
  • Familiarity with end-to-end verification processes: test plan creation through verification closure.
  • Ability to read and apply complex specifications and understand computer architecture fundamentals (pipelining, exception handling, memory systems).
  • Experience using data-driven approaches to verification and tracking metrics to closure.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with verification methodologies such as UVM.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ and Python for verification infrastructure and tooling.
  • Practical experience on microprocessor designs and detailed CPU topics (memory protection/translation, vector processing, interrupts).
  • Experience with constrained-random stimulus, coverage-driven verification, and behavioral models.
  • Experience reviewing technical work and applying AI/ML tools to improve verification productivity.
