Senior Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the verification of new and existing features for AMD’s graphics processor IP, ensuring that there are no bugs in the final design.

Experience Level

Senior-level position, with a background in complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features to be verified.
• Build test plan documentation considering interactions with hardware, firmware, and software driver use cases.
• Estimate time required to write new feature tests and any changes to the test environment.
• Build directed and random verification tests.
• Debug test failures to determine root cause and work with RTL and firmware engineers to resolve design defects.
• Review functional and code coverage metrics, modifying or adding tests as necessary to meet coverage requirements.

Requirements

Key requirements include:

• Proficiency in IP level ASIC verification.
• Strong skills in debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools.
• Experience with UVM testbenches and familiarity with Linux and Windows environments.
• Proficient in Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++.
• Good understanding of graphics pipeline.
• Experience developing UVM based verification frameworks and automating workflows.
• Exposure to simulation profile and improvement tools/processes.
• Hands-on experience with UVM concepts and SystemVerilog.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Perl, Ruby, Makefile, and shell.
• Leadership or mentorship experience is a plus.
• Prior exposure to video codec systems or multimedia solutions is desirable.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
