Job Title

Senior Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for post-silicon validation of system-on-chip (SoC) products to meet project key performance indicators. Manage and support validation of multiple SoCs in parallel and represent validation activities to global stakeholders.

Work within the silicon validation team to plan, execute, and automate validation flows, debug silicon issues, and coordinate with design, verification, applications, product and test engineering teams.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typically requires about 3–5 years of experience in post-silicon validation or pre-silicon emulation of digital SoCs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on validation, automation, and cross-team coordination to enable product releases.

  • Perform post-silicon validation and debug for multiple SoCs in parallel on advanced process nodes.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior validation engineers.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve automated validation setups, test frameworks, and scripts.
  • Collaborate with Design, Verification, Applications, Product, Test Engineering, and Marketing to resolve issues and close validation criteria.
  • Reduce validation cycle time through automation and tooling improvements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role effectively; a short list of preferred additions follows.

  • 3–5 years of experience in post-silicon validation or pre-silicon emulation of digital SoCs.
  • Proven experience validating complex SoCs and debugging silicon issues.
  • Good knowledge of microcontroller/microprocessor architecture and instruction sets.
  • Strong programming skills in C and scripting experience in Python.
  • Experience with embedded firmware development and ARM programming on MCUs.
  • Solid understanding of key peripherals: clocking, power management, Ethernet, PCIe, SerDes, USB.
  • Strong engineering documentation, verbal communication, and presentation skills; organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience working with multi-geography, multi-cultural engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Working experience with RTOS (FreeRTOS preferred), Linux, or other RTOS platforms.
  • Familiarity with automation using AI/ML tools for code generation or debug.
