Senior Test Design Architect

Role Summary

Define, develop, and drive system-level validation strategies for next-generation hardware platforms. Work within the hardware architecture and systems engineering team to ensure robustness, performance, and scalability across AI, graphics, data center, and automotive products.

Collaborate with silicon, board, firmware, and software teams to create test methodologies, automation frameworks, and diagnostics that improve product quality and time-to-market.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires 8+ years of experience in hardware/system test engineering or equivalent industry experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute system validation activities across platforms.

  • Architect end-to-end system validation strategies for new hardware platforms.
  • Define test coverage and validation methodologies for complex systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, QA, and qualification teams to align on requirements and coverage plans.
  • Lead development of automation frameworks and diagnostic tools for scalable, repeatable testing.
  • Analyze test data to identify root causes, guide debug efforts, and close coverage gaps.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship; represent system test considerations in architecture and design reviews.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

  • 8+ years of experience in hardware/system test engineering, preferably in semiconductor, computing, or high-performance systems industries.
  • Deep understanding of system architecture: CPUs, GPUs, memory subsystems, I/O, and power delivery.
  • Proven experience developing and executing validation plans for complex hardware systems.
  • Strong hardware debug skills and experience with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with firmware, BIOS, and low-level software stack interactions.
  • Proficient in scripting and automation (Python, Perl, Bash, or similar).
  • Nice-to-have: leadership in cross-functional, global teams and strong communication skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
