Senior Technical NPI Program Manager
Role Summary
Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) technical programs for Secure Connected Edge (SCE) MPU/MCU/Connectivity products. Lead multi-disciplinary engineering core teams to define, develop, and deliver products that meet commercial and industrial requirements.
Drive program planning, resourcing, budget, cross-functional alignment and on-time delivery across IC architecture, software, security, test, board development, applications engineering, product, market and finance teams.
Experience Level
Senior - candidate should have significant experience (posting specifies at least 10 years in the semiconductor industry and more than 5 years as Program/Project Manager on complex NPI projects).
Responsibilities
Lead NPI program execution from planning through product delivery and sustainment, ensuring cross-functional alignment and delivery against schedule, cost and technical requirements.
- Manage multi-disciplinary core teams and coordinate across engineering, software, product, test, applications and business functions.
- Plan project schedule, resources and budget; drive gate reviews and program tracking using NXP program management practices (BCaM) and tools.
- Drive project execution, report program metrics and status updates, and manage critical-path activities.
- Identify, escalate and mitigate risks and issues that affect schedule, cost or technical outcomes.
- Align program deliverables with corporate organizations and overall business strategy.
- Promote process improvements and operational excellence to improve NPI throughput and quality.
Requirements
Key skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Minimum ~10 years of semiconductor industry experience with a proven record of driving IC/SoC or embedded software programs.
- More than 5 years' experience as a program/project manager on complex NPI projects.
- Subject-matter experience in SoC design, embedded software development, product/test development or applications engineering.
- Proven ability to lead multicultural, multi-location teams; English proficiency required.
- Strong program management skills for complex technical projects that include both hardware and software.
- Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as MS Project, Sciforma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and proficiency in risk and issue management.
- Demonstrated focus on process improvement, operational excellence and agility in changing environments.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is listed; an advanced degree is preferred. PMI/PMP certification is desirable. (These are the education and certification items stated in the posting.)
