Senior System Test Engineer
Role Summary
Manage Datacenter product testers and test facilities as a member of the Test Solution Group. Develop, deploy, and maintain manufacturing test solutions for datacenter system products across internal labs, contract manufacturers, and third-party test sites.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant experience in PCBA and system product validation.
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for test platform deployment, facility operation, failure analysis, and driving continuous improvement of tester operations.
- Partner with hardware and software teams to define, develop, deploy, and maintain manufacturing test solutions for datacenter products.
- Setup, validate, and support rack-level tester platforms at contract manufacturers, internal labs, and 3rd-party test sites.
- Oversee test facility design and development, including air and liquid cooling implementations.
- Manage test facility KPIs and report status to management.
- Plan and execute tester and server hardware/software upgrades across sites.
- Lead failure analysis for tester, server, and component failures; determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Drive metrics such as tester uptime, recovery time, reporting timeliness, and material management.
- Define test strategy for new product features: identify, specify, design, and qualify test fixtures, equipment, and diagnostic software.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills for the role.
- 8+ years of proven experience in PCBA and system product validation.
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes from chip to system.
- Background in production test setup, failure analysis, problem solving, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
- Experience designing, qualifying, and upgrading test fixtures and testers.
- Experience with system test development for both hardware and software.
- Knowledge of server architecture, components, sub-assemblies, and system-level design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
