Job Title

Senior Staff Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead design and implementation of pre-silicon verification for high-performance embedded processors and SoC subsystems. Work within the Infrastructure Processor Business Unit to create verification plans, architect advanced simulation testbenches, and ensure functional correctness across hardware and firmware integration.

Collaborate with architects, design, firmware, and validation teams to define verification requirements, execute verification campaigns, and close coverage gaps.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 8+ years of experience in digital pre-silicon verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating verification artifacts, developing test environments, and diagnosing issues found during simulation and system integration.

  • Develop and maintain verification plans aligned to architecture and design requirements.
  • Architect and implement advanced simulation testbenches to validate DUT functionality.
  • Design and execute directed and constrained-random test scenarios.
  • Collect, analyze, and act on functional and code coverage metrics to achieve closure.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and debug failures in simulation, DUT, or test cases.
  • Use UVM or equivalent methodologies for system-level verification.
  • Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams for integration and debugging.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of verification processes, tools, and methodologies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Strong proficiency in SystemVerilog and other HDL languages.
  • Hands-on experience with UVM or other industry-standard verification methodologies.
  • Experience in subsystem and SoC verification and writing verification test plans.
  • Proven ability to develop complex simulation testbenches and implement constrained-random test cases.
  • Experience with functional and code coverage collection, analysis, and closure.
  • Strong debugging skills for simulation issues, test cases, tools, and the DUT.
  • Familiarity with ARM M-series processors and assembly language.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, and Python.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural/design specifications and verification requirements.
  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology as required by applicable laws and regulations.
