Senior Staff, Project/Program Design
Role Summary
Lead program management for semiconductor product development (industrial and automotive), delivering projects from inception through tape-out to start of production. Act as the primary program manager coordinating cross-functional teams to meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 10–15 years in the semiconductor domain with 5+ years of hands-on technical program/project management experience.
Responsibilities
Accountable for planning, execution, risk management, and reporting for multiple semiconductor product programs.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality targets.
- Drive cross-functional teams (design, test, product engineering, validation, applications, operations, planning, factories, vendors) to meet milestones.
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects or single large programs from concept through production release.
- Continuously review progress, identify risks early, and implement mitigation and contingency plans.
- Implement execution initiatives and process improvements across functions and business groups.
- Monitor program KPIs and produce executive-level status reports.
- Foster knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across teams.
Requirements
Core technical and program management capabilities required.
- 10–15 years of experience in the semiconductor industry with domain knowledge of product development and NPI.
- 5+ years of hands-on technical program/project management leading cross-functional teams for mixed-signal analog or similar products.
- 3+ years experience contributing to product-line NPI as part of design, product, test, validation, applications, quality, or related teams.
- In-depth understanding of product development flow from concept to production release and NPI processes.
- Proven risk identification and mitigation skills; ability to escalate appropriately to prevent critical issues.
- Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills; experience producing executive-level summaries.
- Proficient with project-management and collaboration tools such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, Confluence, DFMEA, and Root Cause Analysis tools.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing priorities and tight turnaround times.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to APQP automotive process.
- Knowledge of back-end semiconductor processes (wafer fabrication, bump, packaging, assembly, test).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering required; Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. PMP certification is a plus (optional).
