Role Summary

The Senior Staff Firmware Engineer will be responsible for leading the firmware strategy for AMD’s FPGA and custom ASIC testing efforts. This role involves defining firmware architecture that enhances product quality, coordinating cross-functional teams, and mentoring engineers to achieve excellence in firmware development.

Experience Level

This position is suited for candidates with extensive experience in embedded firmware development and a strong background in engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Define the firmware development roadmap and architecture for testing solutions on FPGA and custom ASIC products.
  • Deliver firmware infrastructure and diagnostic capabilities that enhance productivity and yield in testing.
  • Lead debugging and validation in various environments, ensuring high quality in firmware delivery.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members on best practices and coding standards.

Requirements

Candidates should possess strong communication and analytical skills, with experience in managing engineering projects. Depth in embedded C programming, familiarity with Linux environments, and proficiency in scripting languages like Shell or Python are preferred.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, IC Design, or a related field is required.
