Senior Staff Engineer, Digital IC Design

Role Overview

As a Senior Staff Engineer in Digital IC Design at Marvell Technology, you will focus on the design, verification, and evaluation of digital circuits for high-speed data communication ICs. Your role will include developing ASIC specifications, analyzing DSP challenges, exploring optimization strategies, and delivering competitive PHY transceiver solutions.

Professional Background

This position requires strong expertise in high-speed DSP and FEC, with at least 5 years of relevant experience for a bachelor's degree holder or 2 years for a master's/PhD graduate. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in both RTL development and verification along with strong system-level modeling and debugging skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and verify digital circuits in high-speed data communication ICs.
• Develop ASIC specifications and micro-architecture for signal processing algorithms.
• Analyze design challenges and generate performance/cost trade-off curves.
• Collaborate across teams to deliver integrated PHY transceiver solutions.
• Engage in post-silicon debug and correlation efforts.
• Conduct synthesis, static timing analysis, and ensure design for test compliance.

Essential Skills

• Significant experience with DSP block functionalities, RTL, and functional verification.
• Proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, Matlab, and Unix Shell.
• Familiarity with entire design cycles including synthesis and timing closure.
• Experience with functional validation and chip bring-up in a lab environment.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master's/PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
