Senior Staff Engineer, Applications Engineering - Static Timing Analysis (STA)
Role Summary
This role is a senior technical engineering position within the Applications Engineering team focused on Static Timing Analysis (STA). The engineer will work on STA flows, timing closure, and root-cause analysis to support product development and customer integrations.
The position is customer- and product-facing: collaborating with R&D teams to improve tools and with customers to diagnose and resolve timing issues.

Responsibilities
Core responsibilities typically include:
- Provide technical leadership and deep expertise in static timing analysis and timing closure methodologies.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve complex timing issues across design flows and process corners.
- Work with product engineering to reproduce, triage, and prioritize issues and feature requests.
- Develop and maintain automation, scripts, and utilities to improve STA workflows and productivity.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver solutions, training, and documentation.

- Must-have: Several years of hands-on experience with static timing analysis and timing closure on digital designs; strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Must-have: Proficiency with scripting and automation (for example Python, Tcl) to build and maintain STA flows.
- Must-have: Experience working with EDA/STA tools and familiarity with standard-cell based timing concepts, constraints, and SDF/Standard delay formats.
- Must-have: Strong communication skills for customer support and cross-team collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: Experience optimizing timing for advanced nodes, familiarity with parasitic extraction and signoff flows, or prior applications/customer-facing engineering experience.
