Role Summary
The Senior Staff Digital IC Designer role involves designing, debugging, and supporting integrated circuits (ICs) and digital features within a collaborative team environment. The position is part of a skilled team focused on developing next-generation high-speed PAM/Coherent DSPs using advanced CMOS technology.
Experience Level
Senior level due to the requirement for advanced skills and experience in electronic engineering.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing efficient RTL using (System)Verilog.
- Integrating internal and external vendor IPs.
- Designing, debugging, and supporting ICs, IPs, and block DFT.
- Collaborating with architecture, floorplanning, backend, verification, DFT, STA teams.
- Participating in RTL development, DFT design, synthesis, and functional verification.
- Assisting in design automation of the CAD EDA flow.
- Developing post-silicon debug and correlation.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications include:
- MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields.
- Fluency in RTL coding design techniques.
- Experience in synthesis, static-timing closure, formal verification.
- Hands-on experience in chip-development process and front-end design tools.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Design experience in high-speed (>1 GHz) DSP products is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, and UNIX shell.
Education Requirements
A Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related technical field is preferred.
