Role Overview

The Senior Staff Design Verification Engineer will be tasked with planning, constructing, and executing verification protocols for AMD's graphics processor intellectual property (IP), ensuring a bug-free final design.

Experience Level

We are looking for a highly knowledgeable professional with extensive experience in digital design and verification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with architects and engineers to understand new features for verification.
  • Create comprehensive test plans that take hardware, firmware, and software interactions into account.
  • Estimate time for writing and modifying tests in the test environment.
  • Develop both directed and random verification tests.
  • Analyze test failures to identify root causes and collaborate with RTL and firmware engineers to fix design defects.
  • Evaluate functional and code coverage metrics, modifying tests as needed to satisfy coverage requirements.
  • Execute tests on hardware emulator builds to validate functionality and performance of the IP.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about complex processor architectures and has strong analytical skills. Team collaboration and effective communication skills are also essential for this role.

Education Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
