Senior/Staff ATE Test Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's Solutions Test Team to develop test capabilities for emerging process technologies across Cloud, Infra, IoT and Automotive segments. The role focuses on test strategy, ATE software/hardware planning and execution, bring-up, characterization, production release, and ensuring test data correctness and reporting.
Experience Level
Senior β 6+ years of semiconductor product development experience, including bring-up, characterization, and production.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include defining test strategies and delivering ATE test solutions from development through production.
- Define and drive test strategy for new projects and process nodes.
- Develop and implement ATE production and characterization plans.
- Own ATE test program development and maintenance (test methods, flows, revision control and pattern conversion).
- Create test method source code for ATPG/Scan, MBIST, HSIO, sensors, and functional tests.
- Develop test flows including binning strategy and test data capture/reporting.
- Collaborate with vendors on ATE test hardware: probe cards, loadboards/sockets, thermal control interfaces.
- Lead test bring-up, characterization, debug, and production release activities across cross-functional teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and proven experience:
- Demonstrated experience in ATE test program development and execution (experience with Advantest EXAScale-SMT8 is preferred).
- Working knowledge of DFT techniques (Scan, MBIST, PHY BIST) and product qualification processes.
- Proven track record of end-to-end project execution from architecture through production release.
- Strong project ownership and experience leading external vendors and multi-functional teams.
Nice-to-have
- Unix, C++, Python, SmarTest, SmartRDI.
- Data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, JMP, YieldExplorer.
- Experience with IEEE 1149, 1500, 1687, 1838; Streaming Scan Network (SSN); scan diagnostics; failure analysis.
- Familiarity with STIL pattern conversion tools and active thermal management techniques.
Education Requirements
Degree (or equivalent practical experience) in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering was requested in the source. Equivalent professional experience is explicitly accepted.
