Senior Staff Applications Engineer (Backend)

Role Summary

As a Senior Staff Applications Engineer, you will provide advanced technical support for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Physical Design and Place-and-Route (PnR) tools. Your primary focus will be on resolving complex customer issues and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Experience Level

This position is aimed at candidates with over 5 years of relevant experience in Physical Design or a related field, particularly those with a strong hands-on expertise in EDA PnR tools.

Responsibilities

• Address complex technical issues related to EDA PnR tools, providing effective solutions to improve customer satisfaction.
• Lead Performance, Power, and Area (PPA) optimization projects, collaborating closely with customers.
• Act as the main point of contact for key accounts, ensuring successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
• Coordinate with regional teams across different geographies to share best practices and enhance support activities.
• Contribute to strategies for market expansion and customer relationship management.
• Prepare and disseminate technical documentation, while mentoring junior engineering staff.

Requirements

• Proven experience of 5+ years in Physical Design or a closely related area.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with EDA PnR tools.
• Strong capability in optimizing PPA and resolving intricate technical problems within customer environments.
• Excellent English communication skills for cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration.
• Ability to manage relationships with clients and internal stakeholders effectively.
• Experience in business development or account management is advantageous.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in mentoring and leading technical projects.

Education Requirements

A relevant degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred, although specific qualifications may vary based on the applicant's background and experience.
