Job Title

Senior Staff Analog and Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits for high-performance CMOS transceiver / SERDES products within Marvell's Central Engineering group. The role spans architecture, circuit implementation, layout oversight, lab characterization and cross-functional integration with digital and SoC teams.

Expected base pay range (USD): 149,500 - 221,220 per year. Candidates may be subject to export-control screening prior to employment.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Typically requires substantial hands-on mixed-signal IC design experience (see Education Requirements for degree-related experience guidance).

Responsibilities

Deliver analog/mixed-signal IP from architecture through silicon validation and support integration across product teams.

  • Architect, design and optimize circuits such as PLLs, DLLs, ADCs, regulators, amplifiers, TX/RX, CDRs and related analog blocks.
  • Perform design verification and simulations using SPICE/Spectre, MATLAB and similar tools.
  • Execute and supervise physical layout activities in advanced process nodes and coordinate with physical design teams.
  • Plan and run lab characterization, debug prototypes, and validate designs against specifications.
  • Prepare design documentation and application specifications; support customers and FAEs as needed.
  • Collaborate with digital and SoC teams for integration and cross-functional verification.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Hands-on experience designing mixed-signal circuits: ADCs, DACs, RX, TX, PLLs, filters, bandgap bias circuits and regulators.
  • Strong knowledge of deep sub-micron CMOS technologies and related design techniques for low-power and high-speed applications.
  • Proficiency with IC design and simulation tools such as Spectre, SPICE, MATLAB, Hsim, and Verilog.
  • Lab testing skills for prototype evaluation, characterization, and debugging.
  • Experience carrying out layout activities and supervising physical design in nanometer technologies.
  • Ability to generate design documents and specifications and to support cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with approximately 5–10 years of related professional experience; or a Master’s degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with approximately 3–5 years of related professional experience. (Source lists these degree-and-experience combinations.)
