Job Title

Senior SSD Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Lead validation activities for SSD products with primary responsibility for customer test requirements, test coverage, and test results. Act as the subject-matter expert to define, improve, and enforce validation methodologies and to drive failure diagnosis and closure.

The role sits on the SSD validation team and focuses on improving test effectiveness and efficiency, developing validation approaches and tools, and leading product test cycles to meet project scope and delivery dates.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of validation strategy, execution, and failure resolution for customer-facing SSD tests.

  • Serve as subject-matter expert on customer test requirements and results; review and challenge test plans and coverage.
  • Recommend and implement new validation approaches to improve coverage and accuracy.
  • Root-cause failures, articulate associated risk, and drive issues to closure.
  • Evaluate, refine, and enforce validation processes and methodologies.
  • Contribute to development and maintenance of in-house automation frameworks and validation tools.
  • Plan and lead product test cycles, including schedules and strategies aligned to delivery dates.
  • Enable shift-left testing to detect issues earlier in internal frameworks before customer tests.

Requirements

Essential skills and experience required for the role.

  • Experience with customer test requirements and customer-facing validation activities.
  • PCIe and NVMe log analysis experience.
  • Drive debug and drive-level failure analysis.
  • System-level debug log analysis.
  • Experience owning OEM customer validation testing, requirements, and qualification processes.
  • Proven ability to lead validation cycles, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate technical risk.

Education Requirements

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field followed by 5 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation.
