Senior Software Development Tech Lead – NVLink FW and NVOS

Role Summary

Technical lead and senior individual contributor responsible for firmware and network OS (NVOS) development for NVLink, NVIDIA’s datacenter networking fabric. The role drives end-to-end feature design and delivery and coordinates across product, test, manufacturing and partner teams to enable large-scale deployments.

Base salary ranges: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD for Level 5; 272,000 USD - 431,250 USD for Level 6. Eligible for equity and benefits.

Senior — the posting specifies over 12 years of direct software development experience and expects demonstrated technical leadership on complex, customer-facing systems.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for the NVLink firmware and NVOS programs:

  • Spearhead end-to-end development and implementation of NVLink features to support configuration, installation, and troubleshooting in datacenter environments.
  • Own the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned programs and serve as the point of contact for technical delivery and quality.
  • Define technical direction, decompose features, and maintain the quality bar from design through production as a hands-on contributor.
  • Collaborate with product, test, applications engineering, production/manufacturing, and partner teams to translate customer issues into product solutions.
  • Implement application flows and integrations that leverage the NVLink networking fabric for core cloud service provider customers.
  • Establish evaluation, observability, and continuous-improvement practices across manufacturing and production networks.
  • Promote AI-enabled tooling and automation across development, test, and lifecycle processes.

  • Must-have: Over 12 years of direct software development experience with substantial responsibility for complex, customer-facing systems or platforms.
  • Must-have: Proven track record as a technical lead, engineering manager, or architect delivering significant networking or datacenter infrastructure features.
  • Must-have: Strong networking acumen and experience developing or leading firmware and/or OS development for network infrastructure.
  • Must-have: Hands-on development experience in embedded C/C++ and Python; experience owning SDLC and delivering production-quality software.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence technical direction across teams while contributing individually.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with embedded RTOS, SDK workflows, and end-to-end networking project delivery.
  • Nice-to-have: Contributions to internal or open-source networking frameworks, OS tooling, or developer methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: History of mentoring senior engineers and raising engineering standards for code quality and reliability.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
