Senior SoC Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain low-level software, validation tools, and test frameworks for complex SoCs and server platforms throughout the product lifecycle, from virtual prototypes and bring-up to large-scale deployment.

This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, operating systems, and system-level validation; the team focuses on performance, reliability, power efficiency, and serviceability for data center and AI infrastructure.

Experience Level

Senior - 8+ years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Core duties include design, implementation, and investigation across software and system boundaries.

  • Design and implement SoC software, validation solutions, and test frameworks spanning user space, kernel, firmware, and boot software.
  • Develop system validation and reliability software to move platforms from prototype and first silicon to production and deployment.
  • Create and improve tools for thermal and power characterization, manufacturing screening, and platform bring-up.
  • Perform root-cause analysis of complex board- and system-level failures across hardware and software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and partners on system integration and problem resolution.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 8+ years relevant industry experience in SoC, systems software, or related fields.
  • Strong C and C++ programming skills, including object-oriented design.
  • Experience with low-level systems software, device drivers, firmware, or other hardware-facing programming.
  • Solid understanding of processor architecture fundamentals (preferably ARM).
  • Proven debugging and problem-solving skills for multi-layer system issues.
  • Strong communication and planning skills; ability to lead technically complex initiatives.

Nice-to-have

  • Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals and ARM-based platforms.
  • Experience with validation, reliability, or bring-up for data center/server/AI infrastructure.
  • Experience with pre-silicon or post-silicon platform bring-up and failure analysis.
  • Experience applying AI, automation, or data-driven techniques to accelerate validation and analyze failures.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
