Senior SoC Architect - MCU

Role Summary

Lead SoC architecture for NXP's MCU product line at the Yokneam Ilit SoC team. Define the SoC architecture and specification, collaborate with system, RTL, DV, software, security, analog and marketing teams, and ensure the SoC implementation aligns with the architecture.

Work focuses on complex SoC and new-technology development central to the MCU business.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 15 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Define next-generation SoC architecture and produce the SoC architecture specification.
• Work closely with system architects, marketing, RTL and DV teams to translate requirements into architecture.
• Align architecture across software, security, analog and digital domains and with documentation teams.
• Ensure SoC development teams follow the architecture specification and resolve cross-team issues.
• Provide guidance on hardware–software partitioning and security mechanisms.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills:

• 15+ years experience in SoC architecture for complex SoCs.
• Practical knowledge of RTL and DV methodologies.
• Familiarity with bus and multimedia protocols (AHB, AXI, video, audio).
• Experience collaborating with RTL, DV, software, marketing and other cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with teams worldwide.
• Knowledge of ultra-low-power design techniques.
• Experience with hardware–software partitioning and system-level division of responsibilities.
• Strong familiarity with ARM architecture, especially Cortex-M platforms.
• Solid understanding of security mechanisms for SoCs.
• Independent, self-directed and effective as a team player.

Nice-to-have:

• Python programming experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering required; Master of Science (MSc) is advantageous.
