Role Summary

The Senior Silicon Test Engineer will be integral to the Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering organization at Microsoft, which focuses on developing advanced computer chips and supporting the company's cloud infrastructure. The role involves overseeing product and test engineering activities, ensuring silicon validation and manufacturing readiness, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Senior level; requires a Doctorate with 1+ years or a Master's with 4+ years or a Bachelor’s with 5+ years of relevant technical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Conducting product and test engineering activities to support new product development and manufacturing.
  • Collaborating on silicon bring-up, validation, and manufacturing processes.
  • Executing test plans and methodologies while identifying risks and issues.
  • Contributing to ATE test program development and silicon characterization.
  • Supporting Design-for-Test (DFT) initiatives and product qualification processes.
  • Working closely with design, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate test readiness.
  • Applying industry-standard DFT features and engaging in simulation and emulation activities.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Doctorate, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 1+ years (Doctorate), 4+ years (Master’s), or 5+ years (Bachelor's) of technical engineering experience.
  • Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check and meet security requirements.
  • Familiarity with integrated circuit development and DFT techniques.
  • Clear communication skills and experience working in structured development environments.
