Job Title

Senior Silicon Test Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Product Development and Test Engineering team responsible for design validation, characterization, and production deployment of SoC IPs for 5G products in advanced FinFET process technologies.

Primary mission: enable high-volume manufacturability by developing ATE-based validation and debug flows, test HW/SW, corner characterization, and cost-effective production test solutions.

Experience Level

Senior — title indicates senior level. Refer to Education Requirements for degree/years guidance (Bachelor's +2 years, Master’s +1 year, or PhD).

Responsibilities

Core duties focus on silicon validation, test development, and production readiness.

  • Operate and program Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to validate and debug product functionality.
  • Develop test hardware and embedded/host software for validation and production test flows.
  • Characterize devices across process, voltage, temperature corners and system configurations.
  • Define and release cost-effective production test solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with IC Design, Software, Systems, and Operations to resolve lab-to-production issues.
  • Perform measurements using oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic/network analyzers and other RF/measurement tools.
  • Analyze test data and maintain documentation and metrics required for production readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills; preferred items noted.

  • Experience in hardware engineering, product development, test validation, or high-volume production activities for SoC or related products (mobile, compute, data center, automotive, IoT).
  • Familiarity with circuit design concepts (digital, analog, RF) and VLSI technologies including digital design and CPU architecture.
  • Experience with test methodologies such as logic test (ATPG/Scan), memory test (SRAM, DRAM interfaces), high-speed SerDes, or sensor validation.
  • Hands-on experience with measurement equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, time-interval/logic analyzers).
  • Programming experience in Python, C++, Java, Assembly or embedded software development.
  • Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools (2+ years preferred).
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (JMP, National Instruments, Exensio) and automated test equipment (Advantest, Teradyne) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of DFT techniques (JTAG, memory BIST) and structural tests is a plus.
  • Effective communicator able to work across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

One of the following: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of hardware engineering experience; OR Master's degree in these fields plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR a PhD in these fields. Preferred mentions include Master's in Electrical, Electronics, Mecatronica, Computer Science or related fields. Equivalent practical experience may also satisfy the requirement.
