Role Summary

The successful candidate will join AMD's Computing and Graphics Performance Verification team. This team focuses on analyzing AMD’s next generation SoC architecture and performance through modeling and RTL simulation. The role requires collaboration with SOC and IP architects to evaluate performance and work alongside design and verification teams to execute verification plans.

Experience Level

3-5 years of professional experience in the semiconductor industry is required for this position. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in building and delivering complex SOC computing devices.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Computing and Graphics Performance Verification team.
  • Develop simulation infrastructure and methodologies needed to model specific customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to debug any functional and performance issues.
  • Track, communicate, and develop project plans internally and with AMD customers.
  • Utilize customer feedback to enhance performance testing and improve deliverables.
  • Contribute to a global team to uphold high standards of quality.
  • Engage in multi-disciplinary interactions with teams across the organization.
  • Identify, resolve, and document architectural performance issues.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to learn. Experience in computer system simulation and performance evaluation is crucial. Proficiency in debugging RTL code and familiarity with ASIC hardware design and verification languages/tools (Verilog, System Verilog, System C, UVM/UVC) is required. Additionally, experience with programming languages (C/C++, Perl, Python) and an understanding of microarchitecture for various computing units is preferred.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 5 years of full-time experience in IP hardware design, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience in the same field.
