Role Overview

The Senior Silicon Design Engineer at Advanced Micro Devices Inc is a pivotal role in the Belfast Data Centre design team. You will be responsible for ASIC block design and verification tailored for next generation data center networking aimed at AI cluster enhancements.

Position Summary

The role involves defining, developing, and supporting verification environments for complex ASICs, including the creation of block and system-level test benches. You are expected to contribute throughout the design verification lifecycle, ensuring high levels of productivity and functional coverage.

Experience Level

This is a Level - Senior role requiring extensive experience in silicon design, verification, and related areas. You should have a proven track record in high-performance computing or networking applications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define and develop block and system-level test benches and verification environments.
  • Create support utilities for verification automation and enhance productivity.
  • Mentor verification team members and provide technical support.
  • Develop comprehensive verification test plans and support activities.
  • Participate in the verification infrastructure development for complex ASICs.
  • Contribute to post-silicon validation of ASICs, including writing tests and scripts.

Key Requirements

Applicants must possess significant experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM, along with strong knowledge in C/C++, Python, Perl, and TCL for scripting purposes. Familiarity with ASIC and FPGA tools is crucial, as well as best practice chip-level verification techniques.

Education Requirements

A degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
