Job Title
Senior Signal & Power Integrity Engineer
Role Summary
Join the SI/PI engineering team to define and verify signal and power integrity for NVIDIA packages, PCBs and systems. You will collaborate with architecture, ASIC, mixed-signal, package and PCB teams to ensure I/O, clock and PDN performance across board, package and system levels.
Experience Level
Senior β requires experienced engineer with 5+ years of relevant industry experience in SI/PI and hardware design.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities include design, simulation, verification and lab validation of low-speed I/O and PDN across package/board/system domains.
- Design low-speed I/O channels (clock circuits, DDR/memory, sensitive signals) and transmitter/receiver equalization schemes.
- Define PCB stack-ups, materials, layout guidelines and perform layout reviews for packages and PCBs.
- Perform SI/PI simulations (2D/3D EM and time-domain) and co-simulations with circuit and PDN models.
- Run lab measurements using VNA, TDR and oscilloscopes; validate models against measurements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, ASIC, mixed-signal, package and PCB teams to meet system-level SI/PI targets.
- Produce guidelines and reviews for switches, adapters and electro-optical modules.
Requirements
Concrete technical skills and experience required; preferred items listed separately.
-
Must-have: 5+ years relevant SI/PI experience focused on low-speed I/O and PDN design and analysis.
-
Must-have: Expert in low-speed I/O design concepts, clock circuits, DDR/memory interfaces, and equalization techniques.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in time-domain analysis and related simulation tools; strong understanding of transmission-line theory and via behavior.
-
Must-have: High proficiency with electromagnetic simulation tools (examples: Ansys EM, CST) and 3D/2D EM solvers.
-
Must-have: Hands-on lab experience with VNA, TDR and scope-based measurements.
-
Must-have: Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-discipline engineering environment.
-
Nice-to-have: Time-domain co-simulation of I/O circuits with PDN models; familiarity with NRZ/PAM-4 signaling.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with MATLAB, Python and C for analysis and automation.
-
Nice-to-have: Advanced academic qualifications (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
Education Requirements
Required: B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering. Related technical fields and equivalent industry experience accepted.
