Job Title
Senior Safety Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Work on verification of safety-critical hardware IP/subsystems/SoCs and their safety mechanisms to support safety certification. The role sits on an engineering verification team collaborating with design, architecture, and functional-safety stakeholders.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of IP, subsystem, or SoC verification experience (guidance from posting: 5+ years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining and executing verification activities that demonstrate compliance with functional-safety requirements.
- Develop and execute verification plans for functional-safety requirements and safety mechanisms at IP, subsystem, and SoC levels.
- Build and maintain verification environments, testbenches, assertions, checkers, and coverage models using SystemVerilog/UVM and related tools.
- Execute and analyze simulations and fault-injection campaigns; debug failures and drive root-cause resolution with designers.
- Trace safety requirements to verification activities and produce objective evidence supporting safety claims and standards compliance.
- Contribute to safety documentation and reviews (FMEDA assumptions, fault models, verification results) required by ISO 26262 / IEC 61508.
- Automate regressions, coverage analysis, and reporting; improve verification flows and reuse.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
Must-have
- Strong RTL verification skills with SystemVerilog, Verilog, and UVM (constrained-random, reusable components).
- Experience developing SoC-level tests and test infrastructure using C/C++.
- Familiarity with functional-safety concepts and standards (ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508).
- Experience with simulation debug, coverage-driven verification, and root-cause analysis.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, or similar) for automation and analysis.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across distributed teams.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Arm-based designs or Arm system architectures.
- Knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB), CDC/RDC, power-aware verification, UPF/CPF.
- Exposure to FMEDA, safety analysis, lockstep/ECC/watchdog mechanisms, assertions/ABV, formal, or gate-level simulation.
Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (as stated in the posting).
