Job Title

Senior RF Design Engineer

Role Summary

Work on the RF Semiconductors team in Wilmington, MA to design and develop RF products such as beamformers, up/down converters, detectors, switches, attenuators, filters, and amplifiers across various process and packaging technologies.

This senior engineering role operates with broad independence, contributes technically and as a project representative, and may mentor junior engineers while performing first-silicon evaluation, design verification, and cross-functional coordination.

Experience Level

Senior-level; typically requires 4+ years of relevant RF design experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Circuit design at the transistor level for RF blocks.
  • Design evaluation, including first-silicon characterization and detailed analysis.
  • Design and develop RF products across different process and packaging technologies.
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues, developing recommendations within defined practices.
  • Contribute to and, as needed, lead projects; represent the organization on cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate results clearly through documentation and technical reports.
  • Mentor and support the technical growth of junior engineers.
  • Support RF test and characterization activities; required travel up to 10%.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

  • Solid understanding of S-parameters, transmission line theory, and RF networks.
  • Ability to design, simulate, and verify circuit performance at transistor and behavioral/architectural levels.
  • Experience with Cadence and ADS design environments.
  • Strong written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills; organized and results-oriented.
  • Ability to learn quickly, tolerate ambiguity, take calculated risks, and collaborate to deliver results.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with electromagnetic simulators such as EMPro and/or HFSS.
  • Experience with RF test equipment and characterization.
  • Prior project leadership experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field. M.S. preferred; Ph.D. is a plus. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
