Senior R&D Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and technology development for next-generation silicon (Si) or wide-bandgap (WBG) power MOSFET devices, driving concepts from device structure and process ideas through production maturity.
Work closely with wafer foundries, assembly teams, product marketing and customers to optimize device design, manufacturability, yield and long-term reliability.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects more than 5 years of experience in semiconductor device design or process integration, preferably with MOSFETs.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, evaluation, and transfer of new power device technologies into production.
- Design next-generation silicon and WBG power devices and define experimental matrices to evaluate and optimize designs versus specifications.
- Collaborate with wafer foundry partners to establish final design rules and optimize yield and manufacturability.
- Work with assembly teams to ensure package-level reliability across formats; perform chip- and package-level failure analysis and diagnostics.
- Analyze experimental and production data to extract physical insight and guide design/process decisions.
- Coordinate with Product Marketing and customers to align device designs with market requirements and trends.
Requirements
Technical skills and experience required to perform the role.
Must have:
- More than 5 years' experience in semiconductor device design or process integration; MOSFET experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with device modeling and layout generation.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics and process technology.
- Ability to analyze large data sets to extract physical insight.
- Ability to work independently in a cross-cultural environment and communicate effectively in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with assembly, testing, characterization, and reliability assessment.
Education Requirements
