Senior Product Engineer-Calibre
Role Summary
As a Senior Product Engineer in the Calibre team at Siemens EDA, you will be responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge solutions in Electronic Design Automation related to semiconductor technology. You will collaborate with a team to advance the Calibre family of products, addressing complex challenges and ensuring products meet customer needs.
Experience Level
Senior-level, with a recommendation of 6+ years’ experience in EDA, IC design, or related fields.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a technical expert for Calibre DRC.
- Define and characterize new product capabilities based on customer requirements.
- Develop solutions and methodologies for complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with Calibre R&D to test new products and features.
- Optimize tool performance across various aspects.
- Work with customers and Siemens EDA stakeholders, including regional application engineers and global support engineers.
- Create technical presentations and develop training materials.
- Prepare and review tool documentation such as manuals.
- Facilitate communications and information sharing across teams.
- Travel domestically and internationally as needed.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications include:
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- High energy and curiosity with a self-motivated attitude towards learning new technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex design issues.
- Proficiency in LINUX and Windows environments.
- Experience in a scripting language such as TCL or Python.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred knowledge and skills include:
- Experience in leading product feature development from concept to production.
- Familiarity with Physical Verification tools, specifically Calibre.
- Knowledge of Computer Architecture and Algorithms.
- Experience with High Performance Computing.
- Understanding of IC design trends and emerging requirements.
Education Requirements
BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
