Senior Product Engineer-Calibre

Role Summary

As a Senior Product Engineer in the Calibre team at Siemens EDA, you will be responsible for driving the development of cutting-edge solutions in Electronic Design Automation related to semiconductor technology. You will collaborate with a team to advance the Calibre family of products, addressing complex challenges and ensuring products meet customer needs.

Experience Level

Senior-level, with a recommendation of 6+ years’ experience in EDA, IC design, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Act as a technical expert for Calibre DRC.
• Define and characterize new product capabilities based on customer requirements.
• Develop solutions and methodologies for complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with Calibre R&D to test new products and features.
• Optimize tool performance across various aspects.
• Work with customers and Siemens EDA stakeholders, including regional application engineers and global support engineers.
• Create technical presentations and develop training materials.
• Prepare and review tool documentation such as manuals.
• Facilitate communications and information sharing across teams.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• High energy and curiosity with a self-motivated attitude towards learning new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex design issues.
• Proficiency in LINUX and Windows environments.
• Experience in a scripting language such as TCL or Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills.

Preferred knowledge and skills include:

• Experience in leading product feature development from concept to production.
• Familiarity with Physical Verification tools, specifically Calibre.
• Knowledge of Computer Architecture and Algorithms.
• Experience with High Performance Computing.
• Understanding of IC design trends and emerging requirements.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is required.
