Job Title
Senior Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead product engineering activities for front-end/hybrid-sensor (FHS) new product introductions from first silicon through mass-production release, drive product conformance to specifications, and support seamless transfer to full-volume manufacturing.
Work cross-functionally with R&D, Test Engineering, Quality & Reliability, Applications Engineering, and Operations to resolve yield and reliability issues and to support automotive qualification where applicable.
Experience Level
Senior. Requires significant hands-on semiconductor back-end/product engineering experience (minimum ~5+ years indicated in posting).
Responsibilities
The role is responsible for yield, qualification, documentation, and production continuity for assigned FHS NPI programs.
- Own product engineering activities for assigned NPI programs from first silicon to mass production and full-volume transfer.
- Lead wafer analysis and yield-improvement efforts: maintain yield loss Pareto, perform root-cause investigations, and close corrective actions for CP and FT yield deviations.
- Maintain BOMs and ECOs for test hardware and product configurations in Agile PLM and SAP; ensure documentation completeness and knowledge redundancy.
- Drive continuous improvement (CIP) and monitor yield/quality metrics across process steps; identify trends and implement targeted solutions.
- Lead multi-OSAT manufacturing qualifications: coordinate handler qualification, correlation lot design, Cpk analysis, and qualification sign-offs.
- Manage RMA verification and customer escalation analyses; lead failure investigations and corrective-action implementation.
- Implement PAT/SBL/SYL and statistical process control baselines at primary and alternate OSATs; integrate with yield analytics platforms.
- Support automotive qualification activities and help prepare reliability and qualification data packages.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet NPI milestones and ensure production continuity.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items labeled.
- Proven semiconductor back-end/product engineering experience (hands-on yield and production support).
- Demonstrated yield-analysis skills: parametric failure analysis, Cpk trending, implementation of SBL/SYL, and PAT outlier detection.
- Experience coordinating multi-OSAT qualification programs, including correlation lot design and sign-off matrices.
- Working knowledge of Agile PLM or equivalent PLM system for BOM and ECO management.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation to drive yield improvements; familiarity with JMP or equivalent tools.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork skills; strong written and verbal communication in English required.
- Preferred: Mandarin working proficiency.
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with MEMS force/pressure sensors, capacitive sensing, or haptic actuator characterization.
- Preferred: Familiarity with ATE platforms (e.g., S100, Advantest V93K) and probe-card / FT fixture bring-up.
- Preferred: Experience with automotive-grade product engineering (AEC-Q100 flows, PPAP/APQP documentation) and coverage-gap analysis of test programs.
- Preferred: Scripting/programming for data analysis and automation (Python, VBA, or equivalent); knowledge of 6-sigma, DFM, and production GR&R methods.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Job also references familiarity/experience with automotive quality processes (AEC-Q100, PPAP/APQP) and quality methodology knowledge (IATF 16949 awareness, 6-sigma black-belt noted as advantage).
