Job Title

Senior Product and Test Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Product and Test Engineer is responsible for validating and debugging new silicon, developing automated test equipment (ATE) hardware and software, and releasing cost-effective production test solutions into high-volume manufacturing.

This role works within the Product Engineering / Hardware Engineering team and collaborates across functions to develop test methodologies for advanced packaging and device characterization.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting indicates experience with silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing; typical guidance is 3+ years of relevant hardware engineering or silicon bring-up experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Validate and debug new silicon during bring-up and characterization phases.
  • Develop and maintain ATE hardware and software for device testing.
  • Characterize device performance across process corners and operating conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to create test methodologies for advanced packaging technologies.
  • Design and release production test solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Use common RF and lab test equipment to diagnose and verify hardware behavior.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Hands-on experience with common test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum/network/logic analyzers).
  • Practical experience in silicon bring-up and supporting high-volume manufacturing (hardware engineering experience).
  • Experience developing or using ATE HW/SW and releasing tests into production.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills for hardware and test systems.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest 93K) and test program development.
  • Familiarity with DFT techniques and structural tests (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST).
  • Experience testing CPUs, advanced packaging technologies, and mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, PLL, codecs).
  • Knowledge of VLSI design, semiconductor device physics, processor systems, CMOS, analog and mixed-signal measurement techniques.
  • Software skills: C/C++, Perl, JMP or similar tools used in test development and data analysis.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and deliver quality work.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: Master’s degree in a similar field. The posting also lists alternate qualification paths (e.g., Bachelor’s + experience, Master’s + reduced experience, or PhD). Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
