Role Summary

The Senior Principal Physical Design Engineer is a key technical leader responsible for driving advanced physical design activities for complex SoC and IP blocks, focusing on achieving performance, power, and area targets.

Experience Level

Senior level; 15+ years of extensive experience in ASIC physical design.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading all aspects of physical design from RTL to GDSII, including floor planning, power planning, and static timing analysis.
• Optimizing design methodologies and flows to enhance efficiency and design quality.
• Collaborating with design, architecture, and verification teams to resolve complex technical issues.
• Mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Integrating new EDA tools and technologies into the design process.
• Implementing low-power design techniques to meet power budgets.
• Generating reports and documentation throughout the design cycle.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of extensive experience in ASIC physical design.
• Deep expertise in EDA tools such as Cadence Innovus and Synopsys tools.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python).
• Strong understanding of static timing analysis and low-power design techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
