Role Summary
The Senior Principal Memory Architect is a key role in the Custom Cloud Solutions (CCS) Architecture team, responsible for defining and delivering memory subsystem solutions for advanced data center architectures. This position involves collaboration with top hyperscalers and Marvell’s internal design teams to ensure the delivery of high-performance memory systems.
Experience Level
Senior-level position requiring 15+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years with a Master’s/PhD in a related field.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Architecting high-performance HBM/DDR memory subsystems and developing specifications.
- Defining the memory controller architecture strategy and roadmap.
- Driving micro-architecture development and collaboration with internal teams.
- Developing system-level models for performance evaluation.
- Ensuring product quality and reliability through cross-functional collaboration.
- Leading innovation initiatives around memory subsystem architecture.
- Representing Marvell in technical discussions with customers and partners.
Requirements
Must-have skills and qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 15+ years relevant experience, or Master’s/PhD with 8+ years experience.
- Deep understanding of DDR/HBM memory subsystem architecture.
- Experience designing HBM/DDR memory controllers.
- Familiarity with JEDEC standards (e.g., HBM3/4, DDR4/5).
- Experience with system modeling and performance analysis tools.
- Experience in developing ECC, RAS, and reliability features.
- Strong analytical abilities and communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field required. A Master’s or PhD may be considered with fewer years of experience.
