Senior/Principal IC Design Engineer
Role Summary
As a senior member of the BU Wi‑Fi SoC Group, you will lead digital IC design, integration and verification for Nordic Semiconductor’s first-generation ultra-low-power Wi‑Fi SoC. The role focuses on SoC-level implementation, low-power optimization and delivering silicon-ready designs.
You will work across the Bristol, Tampere and Stockholm sites and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define specifications and guide verification and integration efforts.
Experience Level
Senior — expects 15+ years of experience in digital IC design, verification, synthesis, static timing analysis or pre-silicon prototyping.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design and verify digital blocks for Wi‑Fi SoC products.
- Lead SoC integration and system-level verification.
- Implement and optimize for ultra-low-power operation.
- Perform ASIC/FPGA synthesis and static timing analysis.
- Prepare specifications for submodules and at chip level.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor other engineers.
Requirements
Key requirements (must-haves listed first):
- 15+ years experience in digital IC design, verification, synthesis, STA or pre-silicon prototyping.
- Strong RTL design and verification skills; experience with SoC implementation and integration.
- Proven experience with ASIC/FPGA synthesis and static timing analysis.
- Experience applying low-power design techniques in silicon projects.
- Ability to produce clear technical specifications at module and chip level.
- Excellent collaboration skills; experience working in a global matrix organization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Wi‑Fi product development and integration of microcontrollers/connectivity.
Education Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
