Role Summary

The Senior Principal Engineer, Physical Design is a key leader within Marvell's central physical design team, focused on shaping the vision and capabilities for the company's physical design infrastructure.

Responsibilities

As a senior leader, you will:

• Shape the long-term vision for physical design capabilities and infrastructure.
• Lead RTL-to-GDSII implementation for multiple SoC programs.
• Provide strategic leadership to physical design teams.
• Mentor and develop engineering talent.
• Oversee hiring and performance management to build a high-performing team.
• Drive collaboration with design teams for successful project execution.
• Navigate cross-functional conflicts to maintain project momentum.
• Develop and adopt next-generation physical design methodologies and automation.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience; or a Master’s with 10-12 years; or a PhD with 8-10 years.
• Strong experience in back-end physical design and verification.
• Leadership in managing complex SoC projects and team scaling.
• Expertise in physical design methodologies and advanced process nodes.
• Knowledge of ASIC design flows and RTL integration.
• Proficiency with modern EDA tools and flows.
• Experience in automation and scripting (Makefile, Tcl, Python, Perl).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Static timing analysis expertise and familiarity with AI/ML optimization is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; or equivalent professional experience.
