Senior Platform Software Engineer – Factory
Role Summary
Lead integration of platform software, firmware, and diagnostics for NVIDIA GPU and DPU products deployed in factory and data-center environments. Work on the Datacenter Platform Software team to coordinate factory projects, align cross-functional teams and vendors, and standardize solutions across multiple manufacturing sites.
Experience Level
Senior. Requires 5+ years of relevant experience and prior factory integration/bring-up experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and delivering software/firmware/diagnostics for factory use, validating systems, and improving factory processes and documentation.
- Lead factory validation projects for software, firmware, and diagnostics across multiple locations.
- Manage integration and handover of software/firmware/diags for products.
- Provide strategic technical direction and act as primary consultant to engineering teams and partners.
- Collect and analyze factory requirements from ODMs/OEMs and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analyze factory systems and workflows; identify, design, and implement process and system improvements.
- Create and maintain system requirements, procedures, and SOPs; coordinate change implementation with minimal disruption.
- Perform system testing, validation, debugging, and data analysis to improve reliability and efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in platform, firmware, or systems engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience as an integration engineer in factory settings.
- Experience with server manageability, bring-up, and deployment in data centers; strong understanding of firmware and diagnostics for x86 and ARM servers.
- Experience working with ODMs/OEMs to deliver production-quality servers.
- Proficient in Python, C/C++, and shell scripting; hands-on coding and debugging skills for GPU platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork, and a self-starting approach to problem solving.
Nice-to-have:
- Direct experience on factory integration or hardware bring-up projects.
- Deep hands-on experience with x86 or ARM system architecture.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent practical experience.
