Senior Physical Design Leader MCU

Role Summary

Lead physical design activities for complex MCU SoC projects within the NXP Israel SoC team at the Yokneam site. The role manages internal and external PD engineers and coordinates PD work across RTL, CAD, MSIP, packaging and other teams.

This is a technical leadership role responsible for end-to-end PD flow delivery including synthesis, place-and-route, verification and timing/power signoff for advanced MCU designs.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 15 years of experience in physical design for complex SoCs.

Responsibilities

The candidate will own physical design execution and lead the PD team for assigned projects.

• Lead a team of internal and external physical design engineers.
• Own and drive PD activities: synthesis, place-and-route (PNR), power verification (PV), static timing analysis (STA), and signoff flows.
• Collaborate with RTL teams on SDC and UPF creation and timing/power closure.
• Coordinate with MSIP, CAD, packaging and other cross-functional teams required for PD development.
• Ensure delivery of PD milestones and mentor engineers on PD methods and tools.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 15+ years of experience in SoC physical design for complex SoCs.
• Proven knowledge of complete PD flows and common EDA tools across synthesis, PNR, STA and signoff.
• Experience working closely with RTL, DV, MSIP, CAD and other cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate globally distributed teams.
• Independent contributor and team leadership capability.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with ultra-low-power physical design techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering required; Master's degree (MSc) in a related field is advantageous.
