Role Overview
This position involves leading the development of silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs) at Intel, a leading corporation in the tech industry. The role requires a mixture of design, simulation, and execution expertise, facilitating the transition from conceptual design to high-volume manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Define and oversee integrated silicon photonic chip development plans.
- Design and optimize complex active and passive large-scale PICs.
- Coordinate all aspects of PIC development, including architecture definition, design, layout, testing, validation, and performance debugging.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams such as foundries and reliability specialists.
Required Experience Level
A minimum of 5 years in a related field is required for candidates with a Master's degree, whereas a PhD would require at least 3 years of experience in the relevant area.
Position Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Proven experience in developing photonic integrated circuits.
- Expertise in designing, testing, and analyzing complex PICs using various simulation tools and methodologies.
- Experience with optical design tools such as Lumerical and familiarity with layout tools.
Education Requirements
Candidates must hold either an MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline with significant experience, or a PhD in similar fields with relevant experience.
