Job Title
Senior NPI Product Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior NPI Product Engineer owns technical delivery for new product introduction from concept through transfer to high-volume manufacturing. The role partners with Design, Test, Validation, Quality, Reliability, Applications, and Operations to define testability and manufacturability, drive characterization and PVT correlation, optimise yield and test cost, and enable production readiness.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5β8 years of experience in semiconductor product, test, or design engineering.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering leadership across NPI programs to ensure products meet performance, quality, and manufacturability targets.
- Support NPI programs from concept through product release and manufacturing transfer.
- Define and review Design for Testability (DfT) and Design for Manufacturability (DfM) requirements.
- Support development and optimisation of ATE test solutions and bench test plans.
- Plan and execute product characterisation across process, voltage, and temperature (PVT); validate datasheet limits and ATE-to-bench correlation.
- Perform data analysis and statistical test-limit definition to support product release.
- Contribute to yield modelling, DOE planning, test-time optimisation, and identification of yield improvement opportunities.
- Support manufacturing quality monitoring, failure analysis, and root-cause investigations for production and field returns.
- Drive continuous improvement across test coverage, guard-banding, and cost reduction activities.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or preferred for successful performance in this role.
-
Must-have: 5β8 years' experience in semiconductor product, test, or design engineering (relevant internships considered).
-
Must-have: Foundational understanding of semiconductor physics and analog/mixed-signal IC principles.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, JMP) and data-driven test-limit definition.
-
Nice-to-have: Exposure to DfT, DfM, and ATE methodologies.
-
Nice-to-have: Awareness of common ATE platforms (Advantest, Teradyne) and bench test equipment.
-
Nice-to-have: Understanding of semiconductor qualification standards (JEDEC, HTOL, ESD, latch-up) and failure-analysis practices.
- Strong analytical mindset, structured problem solving, and effective written and verbal communication.
- Collaborative approach and ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required; Master's degree preferred. The posting notes relevant internships are considered. No specific certifications are listed.
