Senior NAND Applications Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior NAND Applications Engineer defines NAND product features and specifications, enables customer adoption, and supports product qualification and field problem resolution. The role partners with design, product, and factory teams and interfaces with external controller partners and customers.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5β10 years working with NAND Flash or other semiconductor memories.
Responsibilities
The role combines technical specification development, product enablement, customer support, and training.
- Collaborate closely with Design and Development Engineering to define NAND features and interfaces.
- Develop specifications and technical collateral: data sheets, addendums, application notes, and tech notes.
- Enable product acceptance from sample through qualification; support factory and customer qualification activities.
- Provide direct customer support and field application engineering for problem resolution and corrective action.
- Train internal field engineers and external customers on new features and advanced error-correction techniques.
- Define performance benchmarks, run measurements, and perform performance modeling.
- Engage with external controller partners to enable use of next-generation NAND and buffer-chip solutions.
- Coordinate with Product, Architecture, and Marketing to align features with market targets and customer needs.
Requirements
Core technical and professional capabilities required or strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with NAND Flash and semiconductor memory technologies.
- Strong background in high-speed I/O interface design or characterization (examples: DDR3/DDR4/DDR5, LPDDR4/LPDDR5, ONFI) - strongly preferred.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills for debugging and failure analysis.
- Effective written and spoken English communication and strong presentation skills.
- Good multitasking and organizational capabilities; self-motivated and able to work across teams.
- Experience using AI technologies to improve engineering productivity, workflow efficiency, or decision-making.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI/automation tools to accelerate analysis, content generation, and process optimization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
