Senior Mixed-Signal IC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and develop mixed-signal and analog integrated circuits for high-speed data-communication products. The role is on a multi-disciplinary IC design team working on Multi-Gigabit Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, wireless and optical interfaces in advanced process nodes.

Work includes circuit and architecture decisions, lab characterization, and close collaboration with system designers and layout engineers to deliver production-quality ICs.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

• Architect, design and verify mixed-signal/analog blocks (high-speed ADCs/DACs and related circuits).
• Make system- and circuit-level design choices and document rationale for peer and system reviews.
• Collaborate with layout engineers and apply IC layout techniques for advanced nodes.
• Plan and execute lab measurements, characterization, test and debug of analog IP and chips.
• Participate in design reviews, communicate results to cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Proven experience in high-speed ADC and/or DAC architecture and circuit design.
• Experience developing mixed-signal/analog circuits for high-speed data communication.
• IC design experience in advanced process nodes (examples: 16/7/5/3 nm).
• Proficiency with Cadence/Virtuoso design environment.
• Hands-on experience with lab measurements, characterization, analog test and debug.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a design team.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Multi-Gigabit Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, coherent optical links, or SerDes.
• IC layout experience and/or RF experience.

Education Requirements

MSc (MsC) plus approximately 6 years relevant experience, or PhD plus approximately 3 years relevant experience. (These are the experience guidelines provided in the source.)
