Job Title
Senior Manager 6 Manufacturing Test Operations
Role Summary
Lead manufacturing test operations for high-performance SoCs across cloud, infrastructure, and automotive segments. Define and execute test strategy, establish labs and infrastructure, and drive production ramp, yield optimization, and operational readiness with OSAT partners.
Senior leadership role combining hands-on ATE work (Advantest V93K, SmarTest) with team and program management to deliver production-ready test systems.
Experience Level
Senior; guidance indicates 15+ years in semiconductor test engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, ATE development, lab build-out, production engagement, and team/program management.
- Define and drive end-to-end test strategy for advanced SoCs, including ATE strategy for bring-up, characterization, qualification, and production.
- Lead ATE platform efforts on Advantest V93K (EXA Scale) and develop test programs using SmarTest (SMT7/SMT8).
- Develop test methods (Scan/ATPG, MBIST, HSIO, Functional), test flows, and binning strategies; perform silicon bring-up, characterization, debug, and yield analysis.
- Design and build test labs and infrastructure (93K testers, probe/loadboards, thermal systems); implement automation and data workflows.
- Manage OSAT engagements for production transfer, correlation, ramp, yield monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Recruit, lead, and grow a test engineering team; manage vendors and drive cross-functional delivery from architecture to production.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills for successful candidates.
-
Must-have: 15+ years in semiconductor test engineering; proven leadership and team management experience.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with Advantest V93K (EXA Scale) and SmarTest (SMT7/SMT8).
-
Must-have: Deep knowledge of ATE development, DFT, silicon bring-up, yield analysis, production ramp and OSAT processes.
-
Must-have: Experience with complex/high-performance SoCs and vendor/partner management.
-
Nice-to-have: C++, Python, Unix; tools such as SmartRDI, YieldExplorer, JMP, Tableau.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with IEEE standards, scan diagnostics, and thermal systems.
