Senior IP Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Senior verification engineer on a front-end multi-media IP team responsible for planning and executing IP verification to achieve first-pass silicon success. The role works closely with IP architects, ASIC design engineers, and integration teams to define verification scope and deliver robust verification infrastructure.

Senior-level; typically requires 5+ years of design verification experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include designing and running verification plans, building verification infrastructure, and ensuring IP integrates correctly into chip-level environments.

  • Drive verification of multi-media IP with emphasis on first-pass success.
  • Collaborate with ASIC design engineers, IP architects, and other verification engineers to formalize features and requirements.
  • Verify IP using SystemVerilog and UVM; build and maintain testbenches.
  • Automate unit-level, trace-based testing against reference C models.
  • Architect verification environments and produce verification documentation.
  • Develop simulation models and manage regressions across HLS, Verilog, and FPGA simulations.
  • Perform performance testing, analysis, and functional/code coverage tracking to closure.
  • Advance verification techniques and support IP integration into full-chip flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Must-have: 5+ years of proven design verification experience.
  • Must-have: Expertise verifying complex IP using SystemVerilog and UVM.
  • Must-have: Programming/scripting experience with C and Python.
  • Must-have: Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated ability to apply creative problem-solving to difficult technical problems.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience verifying High-Level-Synthesis (HLS) designs.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with AI-enabled IDEs for code development.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with regression management, FPGA simulation flows, and performance analysis.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
