Senior Field Applications Engineer - Edge AI MPU
Role Summary
The Senior Field Applications Engineer (FAE) provides technical support for NXP application processors, AI accelerators and related solutions. The role drives customer design-in activities, supports sales efforts, and coordinates with internal product and engineering teams to resolve customer technical issues and inform product roadmaps.
Position is based in Shanghai (Pudong) and works closely with sales, marketing and NXP technical communities to ensure customer project success.

Responsibilities
Primary duties focus on technical customer engagement, project coordination, and product support.
- Promote NXP MPU/SoC, DNPU (Discrete NPU) products and vertical solutions to customers in cooperation with sales and marketing.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for customer projects and coordinate cross-functional support to ensure project success.
- Provide hands-on technical support for customer product designs based on NXP products.
- Work with internal product and engineering teams to troubleshoot customer issues and provide feedback for product roadmaps.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items are listed separately.
- Must-have: Practical experience in machine learning, including LLMs and agentic AI.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of operating systems with experience in Linux kernel development, device drivers, and BSP development.
- Must-have: Experience in embedded hardware and software development.
- Must-have: Good English communication skills, spoken and written.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with ARM Cortex-A cores or heterogeneous compute platforms.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Android or QNX.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of automotive hardware/software ecosystem such as AUTOSAR, MCAL, and functional safety.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (listed as the required degree in the source).
