Senior Evaluation Engineer

Role Summary

Hands-on engineering role within the Consumer Audio Business Unit focused on silicon bring-up, validation, characterization and debug of mixed-signal ICs. The position works across hardware and software teams to execute validation plans, diagnose silicon issues, and support product readiness.

Role requires practical lab work, measurement and characterization, and collaboration with embedded software and cross-functional teams to deliver validated hardware.

Senior β€” 5-8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include validation, characterization, and debugging of analog/mixed-signal silicon and supporting product readiness.

  • Contribute to silicon bring-up, validation and debug at block and system levels.
  • Execute validation plans and help define test coverage.
  • Perform characterization measurements and evaluate silicon performance.
  • Debug silicon issues and support root-cause analysis with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with embedded software teams to validate system functionality.
  • Correlate simulation results with silicon behavior.
  • Document validation results and contribute to engineering reports and documentation.
  • Support resolution of silicon issues that impact product readiness.

Requirements

Key skills and practical experience required to perform the role.

Must-have:

  • Experience in pre- and post-silicon validation and characterization of mixed-signal ICs.
  • Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies and logic analyzers.
  • Experience validating analog and mixed-signal blocks (ADC/DAC, amplifiers, Buck/LDO power blocks).
  • Working knowledge of embedded systems programming.
  • Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills across hardware and mixed-signal systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to ~10%.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with audio ICs or consumer audio products.
  • Scripting or test automation experience for measurement and validation.
  • Familiarity with simulation/EDA correlation workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's (BSEE) or Master's (MSEE) in Electronics or a related field, or an equivalent degree; equivalent practical experience accepted. Role expects approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience.
