Job Title
Senior Engineer, STPG PE (FDV-Verilog)
Role Summary
Senior engineer on the STPG Product Engineering team focused on NAND functional and design validation (FDV) using Verilog simulation environments. The role architects scalable, reusable test program frameworks (deterministic and pseudo-random), applies automation and data-driven techniques, and leads failure analysis and cross-functional issue closure to support product release readiness.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests approximately 3β5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar engineering role.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing and executing validation flows, building automation frameworks, and driving defect resolution across teams.
- Design and execute functional and design validation flows for RG NAND devices using simulation platforms.
- Develop deterministic usage-case tests and random sequence generators (RSG) to validate NAND commands, interfaces, and customer-mode features.
- Architect and implement scalable, reusable Verilog test program frameworks to enable efficient development, execution, debug, and reuse across products and nodes.
- Implement automation using C/C++, Python, and Perl to improve test development and execution efficiency.
- Perform detailed failure analysis and root-cause investigations (digital and analog) and drive issue resolution with Design, Application Engineering, Product, System, and Validation teams.
- Apply AI/ML-assisted techniques (data analytics, pattern recognition, anomaly detection) to accelerate failure triage, identify coverage gaps, and prioritize debug.
- Use data-driven methods and dashboards to track validation progress, defect trends, and release readiness.
Requirements
Key technical skills and competencies required for successful performance in this role.
- Proven experience in design validation, characterization, or product engineering for memory devices or similar systems.
- Proficiency in software development and scripting (C/C++, Perl, Python) for test automation and tooling.
- Experience with simulation-based validation and developing verification test programs (deterministic and random).
- Practical experience applying AI/ML or data analytics to test data, defect pattern analysis, or failure triage.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to root-cause analysis.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for documenting results and presenting findings to cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and a proactive mindset toward continuous improvement.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline as stated in the posting.
