Role Summary

Senior engineer on the RF Design Enablement team responsible for development and validation of design ground rules that become part of the Process Design Kits (PDKs). The role focuses on Ground Rule Validation (GRV) and silicon validation to ensure manufacturability and competitiveness of GF technologies.

The position works with cross-functional teams across manufacturing sites (US, Germany, Singapore) and supports technology transfer, PDK validation, and design-rule qualification.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include GRV, test-structure design, data analysis, and cross-functional validation activities.

• Collaborate with program managers, process integration, customer engineers, and benchmarking teams to define technology features controlled by design rules.
• Create layout Design of Experiments (DoE) and design test structures for inclusion on test vehicles.
• Perform rigorous silicon data analysis and present conclusions to design-rule and integration teams.
• Recommend and drive process or design-rule changes based on data to optimize technology portfolio.
• Validate design-rule compatibility during technology transfers to fabrication lines (GRV activities).
• Complete GRV training and work on technologies from Fab9/8 (US) or Singapore as assigned.
• Follow Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) requirements in all activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and abilities; preferred items noted separately.

• Strong data analysis, data mining and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of semiconductor fabrication flow, nanofabrication, device physics, and DOE methodology.
• Strong interpersonal skills; effective team player in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; able to communicate technical conclusions clearly.
• Preferred: experience in device, process integration or unit process areas.
• Nice-to-have: familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso (schematic/layout) and Mentor/Calibre for DRC/LVS.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree (BSEE or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or another relevant engineering discipline. Preferred: MS (often cited with 0–2 years industry experience) or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Computer engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or a related field.
