Senior Director, Reliability Engineering

Role Summary

Lead NVIDIA's board and system-level hardware reliability strategy across product lines (Data Center, Server, Graphics, Automotive, Embedded). Own global reliability engineering teams, labs, and programs that ensure products meet operational lifetime and quality requirements.

Experience Level

Senior β€” executive-level engineering leader. The role requires extensive experience (see Requirements) and leadership of multidisciplinary reliability organizations.

Responsibilities

Accountable for company-wide board and system reliability strategy, test methods, modeling, and cross-functional decisions that affect product design, manufacturing, and field performance.

  • Define and own board and system-level reliability programs across NVIDIA product portfolios from qualification through field deployment.
  • Lead multiple distributed reliability engineering and testing teams and manage reliability labs and test infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to influence design-for-reliability (DfR) and design-for-X (DfX) decisions.
  • Develop and deploy new reliability testing methods, accelerated techniques, and analytical frameworks to reduce time to insight.
  • Establish reliability modeling, predictions, and allocations to quantify risk and guide mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure adequate testing capability and capacity for current and next-generation products.

Requirements

  • Must-have: 18+ years of experience in board and system-level reliability engineering/testing; 10+ years leading reliability management.
  • Must-have: At least 5 years of experience with Data Center equipment reliability.
  • Must-have: Deep knowledge of reliability concepts, physics-of-failure, testing methodologies, and industry reliability standards.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with reliability methods such as DfR, NUDD, and FMEA; experience with reliability modeling, assessments, and allocations.
  • Must-have: Strong command of statistics, data analytics, and reliability mathematics applied to risk assessment.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated experience with component and subassembly reliability testing relevant to overall product reliability.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with finite element analysis and simulations, semiconductor/package-level reliability, electronics manufacturing/testing, and transportation packaging testing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field is listed (or equivalent practical experience). Graduate degree preferred.
