Job Title

Senior DFT Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's DFX team to design and deliver Design-for-Test (DFT) architectures and ATPG flows for advanced, reticle-sized and multi-chiplet silicon platforms. Work spans RTL-to-post-silicon ATE bring-up across GPUs, AI data-center platforms, and complex SoCs.

Collaborate with VLSI, product engineering, EDA vendors, and CAD teams to prototype scalable, automated test solutions. Base salary ranges: $168,000–$264,500 (Level 4) and $196,000–$310,500 (Level 5); eligible for equity and benefits.

Experience Level

Senior level β€” typically 6+ years of hands-on DFT experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and deploy DFT methodologies for next-generation silicon platforms.
  • Own the ATPG lifecycle: verification, coverage analysis, pattern generation, and ATE bring-up.
  • Co-architect DFT strategies with VLSI and product teams for multi-chiplet and reticle-sized designs.
  • Collaborate with EDA vendors and internal CAD teams to shape tool capabilities and automation.
  • Integrate test flows for 2.5D/3D and multi-chiplet architectures.
  • Lead post-silicon test and ATE bring-up activities.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on test architecture and design trade-offs.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

  • 6+ years of hands-on Design-for-Test (DFT) experience.
  • Deep knowledge of DFT tools, methodologies, and test strategies for large-scale designs.
  • Strong experience with industry-standard ATPG tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor and scale technical practices across teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with 2.5D/3D ICs, multi-chiplet architectures, or reticle-sized designs.
  • Background in developing or enhancing EDA tool flows.
  • Experience with silicon testing and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
  • Experience using scripting/programming and AI for automation.

Education Requirements

MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
