Role Summary

The Senior Design Layout Engineer at Micron Technology will be instrumental in creating and validating circuits essential for next-generation memory technologies. The role demands collaboration across various teams to ensure industry-leading product performance and quality.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design, layout, and optimize Memory/Logic/Analog circuits for new product development.
• Conduct parasitic modeling, support design validation, reticle experiments, and tape-out revisions.
• Manage physical layout processes including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
• Implement verification processes using simulation tools for robust design performance.
• Collaborate with multi-functional groups to drive standardization and resolve issues.
• Ensure manufacturability by working closely with Marketing, Product Engineering, and others.
• Engage with Standards, CAD, modeling, and verification teams to enhance design quality.
• Drive innovation for future memory technology developments.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of digital and analog circuit design principles.
• Experience with industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Spectre).
• Understanding of semiconductor fundamentals and VLSI concepts.
• Effective collaboration skills across global teams.

Nice-to-have qualifications are:

• Experience with memory circuit design (DRAM, NAND, NOR).
• Hands-on exposure to parasitic extraction and physical layout.
• Familiarity with design-for-test or product engineering processes.
• Understanding of CAD tools and design automation scripting.
• Prior involvement in tape-out, silicon bring-up, or reticle experiments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
